Nms expeditions11/6/2022 ![]() ![]() NMS EXPEDITIONS PATCHPatch 1.57 released on August 17 claims to have "Fixed an issue that prevented damaged frigates from being completely repaired". Problems range from damaged components not being marked to indications the repairs are complete while the frigate still shows up as damaged in the fleet command interface. The frigate system is new with No Man's Sky Next and there have been widespread reports that the repair system is bugged. If you get into the Frigate game, it’s recommended that you mine platinum whenever you can and keep a stock on your freighter. Elements in your Freighter’s inventory can be used for repairing Frigates. With the exception of Platinum, these elements are all easy to find and, if you’re lucky, you’ll have enough in one of your inventories to complete the repairs. ![]() Repairs generally demand Silver, Gold, Platinum, Ferrite Dust, Pure Ferrite, Oxygen or Tritium. Finding them can be frustrating until you become familiar with the layouts of the different frigate designs. You then have to exit your Starship and find the damaged components on the freighter. Read the report and indicate you want the damaged components marked. The captain of a damaged frigate will contact you through the communicator with a damage report when you land on the frigate’s landing pad. Damaged frigates are marked with a red icon. My experience seems to support this view although I have not rigorously tested it. My best advice is to match frigates to expeditions t o be on the safe side. A number of players have reported that fleets made up of frigates that match the expedition are more likely to return undamaged. To the best of my knowledge, how frigate stats are related to damage has not been verified. This line of thinking indicates that fleets with high stats across all categories have the best chance of surviving Balanced missions. This means that fleets are most likely to return from an expedition undamaged if all of their frigates match the expedition and the combined star ranks of the frigates is higher than the expedition's rank. Combat frigates with weak Exploration stats do not help. The greater the advantage of fleet strength over expedition difficulty, the less chance the frigates will be damaged.Ī frigate's stats may also play a role in determining damage and it's believed that the only stats that matter are the one's that match the kind of expedition the fleet is pursuing. If this is correct, only Exploration frigates play a meaningful role in escaping an encounter unscathed during an Exploration expedition. It’s generally recommended that the combined ranks of the frigates in the fleet outnumber the rank of the expedition by at least one. Expedition difficulty and fleet strength are measured by their respective star ranks. The chance that a frigate will be damaged depends-at least in part- on the difficulty of the expedition relative to the strength of the fleet. If it stays and is damaged again, it will be destroyed. You can choose to abort the expedition for that frigate (other frigates in the fleet will continue on), or command it to stay with the fleet. If a frigate is damaged, you’ll get an emergency message on your Starship’s communicator telling you the frigate needs to return to the freighter for repairs. For example, a Trade frigate can go on an Exploration expedition, but it's less likely to succeed than a frigate designed for Exploration.įrigates can take damage from mishap or combat when they’re on an expedition. ![]() Any frigate can go on any expedition, but the chances of success are much better if the frigate and the expedition match. There are also Balanced expeditions that match up well with Support Specialist frigates. There are four types of expeditions that match the four types of frigates: Combat, Exploration, Industrial and Trade. Command Rooms can only control a single expedition, so you’ll need to build additional Command Rooms if you want to carry out several expeditions at once. You can send up to five frigates on a single expedition and can carry out more than one expedition at a time. The Navigator is standing in the well with the shining globe on the freighter’s bridge. The ship’s Navigator provides a list of available expeditions once the Command Room is built. It’s convenient if the Command Room is located close to the bridge. You can’t send frigates on expeditions until you build a Fleet Command Room on your freighter. ![]()
